Now it's official. Senator Collins has just voted to acquit Trump on both counts.

In her statement, she said she believes Trump’s July 25th call with President Zelensky was “improper and demonstrated very poor judgment,” but that there was not enough evidence to convict him. She also called the removal of a sitting president “disruptive.”

I am more than “disappointed” that Maine's Senator did not use her position or leadership to insist, from the beginning, on evidence and witnesses, and now cites that as the main reason to acquit this unlawful President.

She has repeatedly protected Trump and his agenda: from his 2017 tax scam to appointing Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Her approach to Trump’s impeachment trial was no different. She will always protect this unlawful president.
