2022 Voting and Registration

On Tuesday, the Census Bureau will release new data on voting and registration from the 2022 Current Population Survey November Voting and Registration supplement. These data provide information on method of voting, reasons for not participating in elections and demographics of voters. The statistics presented are based on responses to survey inquiries about whether individuals were registered and/or voted in specific national elections.

Census Bureau Releases 2022 Annual Building Permits Data

The U.S. Census Bureau released final 2022 annual estimates of housing units authorized by building permits. Data include estimates at the national level, census region, census division, state, metropolitan area, county, and permit-issuing place. Two new accompanying map-based data visualizations [ [link removed] ] allow users to view and compare data at the state, county, and metro areas with greater ease than ever before.

The Annual Building Permits Survey provides national, state, and local statistics on new privately owned residential construction. All places issuing building permits for privately owned residential structures are covered in the survey. More than 99% of all privately owned residential buildings constructed are in permit-issuing places.

The next National Advisory Committee Meeting will take place this Thursday and Friday.

Kicking off day 1, Census Bureau Director Robert Santos and Deputy Director Dr. Ron Jarmin will provide executive remarks, and Jordan Misra of the Decennial Census Management Division will present 2030 Federal Register Notice comments and feedback.
