In this email you will find information for homeowners and tenants as well as important community announcements     Dear Neighbor, I hope you had a great weekend. I am writing to invite you to events I am hosting with the Department of Housing Preservation (HPD) this month. HPD is coming to Council District 18 with two virtual resource fairs! The Homeowner Resource Fair will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, May 2nd, and the Tenant Resource Fair is on Tuesday, May 16th. Both events will take place virtually at 6pm. I hope to see you there! Amanda Farías Council Member, District 18 Resource Fair Flyers   Infrastructure and Road Notices Today I joined Mayor Adams, Assembly Member Kenny Burgos, and NYCDEP to announce they will be extending the deadline for the Water Bill Amnesty Program. New Yorkers have until the end of May 2023 to submit an application. The Amnesty Program offers customers up to 100% forgiveness of accrued interest if they pay all or part of their outstanding debt and enter into a payment agreement. To learn more about the Amnesty Program, click here: We encourage anyone you know who may be behind on their water bill to take advantage of this offer. Once it is over, the DEP will begin aggressively pursuing enforcement actions against delinquent accounts that did not take advantage of the amnesty. If you need help witht the application please contact 718-307-1242. Please be advised that on Soundview Avenue and Rosedale Avenue toward Clason Point safety improvements work will begin this month.
