Dear supporter,

Urge Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker to include significant investments in early childhood in his proposed FY2021 budget.

The governor will present his proposed budget on Feb. 19.Use your voice this week by contacting his office to ask for a budget that includes:
-
A $150 million increase for the Early Childhood Block Grant
-
A $4 million increase for home visiting in the Department of Human Services
-
A $25 million increase for Early Intervention
-
A $100 million increase for the Child Care Assistance Program

We support the governor’s mission to make Illinois the best state in the nation to raise a family with young children. These investments are needed not only to expand access to services, but also to ensure that we are properly compensating early childhood teachers and caregivers, home visitors, and therapists for the important work they do.
