Every U.S. Senator is required to swear the solemn oath above. This is a promise to uphold American ideals of justice, encompassing fundamental concepts such as due process. The oath is not open to partisan interpretation; it is not fodder for political expediency.
Yet, true to character, Sen. Joni Ernst has voted to block witnesses for the impeachment trial, and to acquit the president. These actions are indefensible and frankly outrageous.
As an attorney, I swore the same oath to defend the constitution. I will always do what is right and uphold my sworn oath when I’m elected to the U.S. Senate. I will serve with ethical clarity from day one and throughout my term as Senator.
It could not be more clear; Ernst must be voted out. Please support our campaign so we can have a US Senator for Iowa who will uphold and defend our Constitution.
