Howdy friend,
Shad Murib here, the newly elected Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party with a quick word about the future of our party.

As a first-generation American, born to immigrant parents from Lebanon, I was raised in Littleton, Colorado. My upbringing taught me how vital diversity, equity, and inclusion are to the work we do in policy and politics, and that volunteers are the backbone of Democratic politics – in fact, I got my start in politics in high school as a volunteer coordinator for John Kerry’s Presidential Campaign – and I haven’t looked back since!
Today, I live in Eagle County in the high country of Colorado, where outside of my day job as Chair, my wife and I run the Copper Bar Ranch, a working cattle ranch. We provide our community with locally raised grass-fed beef and produce for a farmers market and small restaurants in our valley.
My vision for our party is one that includes and fights for every Coloradan, and champions the voices of young people; working Coloradans; rural communities; indigenous groups; and communities of color.
Too many Coloradans struggle to afford the high cost of living. The climate crisis is making droughts worse and is disproportionately hurting low-income and rural communities. The Republican Party is waging war on reproductive rights.
Working Coloradans, the backbone of our state, need smart and thoughtful policies now more than ever.
The Democratic Party is the party of real solutions to our most pressing issues, but when the rubber hits the road, local far-right officials continue to obstruct progress. The next frontier of Democratic politics must be local.
As Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party, I have four primary goals:
1. We must protect and grow our legislative majorities
2. It’s time to end the era of Republican majorities in local offices
3. We’ll strengthen our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
4. We will support candidates and county parties across the state while building a more accessible party
These are big goals, and we need to build the foundation now to see these through. If you want to be an early investor in our CO Democratic Defense Fund that will fuel the Colorado Democratic Party into next year and beyond, join us by chipping in $1, $5 or $10 today >> [[link removed]]

We’ve got our work cut out for us, but I know that, together, we can do this! Stay tuned here for more updates about our progress and ways you can get involved.
Thank you,
Shad Murib
