This May Day, let’s celebrate workers across the country, their struggles,
and their progress by pledging that California's next U.S. Senator will be
a staunch ally of the labor movement.

Our state has been at the center of the labor fight for decades. Just like
the SEIU members I joined on the picket line last month, who drive our
kids to school, feed them lunch, and clean their classrooms, California
workers have always fought to set the standard for a middle-class life in
this country.

I’ve committed my entire career to standing up for California’s workers
and working families. This commitment to workers is why I proudly kicked
off this campaign alongside the brains and brawn behind the Hollywood
Magic at the IATSE union hall in Burbank.

It’s why I’ve picked up statewide endorsements from the CA electrical
workers (the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) and the CA
transit and allied workers (the Amalgamated Transit Union), as well as
California’s IATSE council. Not to mention another dozen local unions.

Too often, working families and underserved communities are left behind,
leaving only large corporations and the wealthy to benefit from our
country’s economy. We must say no more to this broken system and commit to
supporting workers.

Whether you're a school teacher, a barista, a construction worker, or an
IT technician, you have the right to form a union and collectively bargain
for your wages and benefits.

As California's next Senator, I'll fight to protect that right and
enshrine it further by passing the Protecting the Right to Organize Act,
which helps unionizing workers, providing them protections when bargaining
for better wages, benefits, and safer workplaces.
