While union density remains historically low, tides are changing and the future looks brighter than ever. Even in the south – where workers have been most harmed by bad labor policies, extractive industries, and some of the lowest wages in the country – we see fast food and service workers organizing for safer working conditions, communities demanding manufacturers prioritize their neighbors, and a growing coalition of Black labor strategists and thought leaders. Our Advancing Black Strategists Initiative is supporting key campaigns in the south and training future leaders who will transform the future of our movement.
In order to truly realize the full potential of this moment, we’ll need people like you to help sustain the work and show up in solidarity for workers across the country. Are you in?
