Around 100,000 people in California’s Central Valley have a contaminated water supply in their home. San Bernardino has the country’s worst ozone quality because of pollution from trucks going to and from the horde of warehouses in the area.
The Environmental Justice For All Act illuminates the devastation pollution has rained on the air and water in poor communities and communities of color.
By taking measures like strengthening the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA), this bill will prevent this destruction against frontline communities from continuing and allow them to fight back against polluters.
A massive thank you to Rep. Barbara Lee for reintroducing the bill and our other California champions who are co-sponsoring it: Senator Alex Padilla and Representatives Sydney Kamlager-Dove, Katie Porter, Jared Huffman, Nanette Diaz Barragán, Ro Khanna, Julia Brownley, Grace Napolitano, and Jimmy Gomez.
“We are facing a climate crisis that is disproportionately impacting Black and Brown communities across the country,” Rep. Kamlager-Dove said. “As the Vice Ranking Member on the House Natural Resources Committee, I am proud to stand with my colleagues to secure clean air and water for future generations and address the severe and lasting impacts of environmental racism.
Friend, take a stand for environmental justice by signing onto the petition to build public support for the Environmental Justice For All Act.
Thanks for raising your voice.
