Today is May Day. This is the day that many countries commemorate the struggles and gains made by workers and the labor movement. We can’t forget that many of the gains we’ve made in making the workplace safer for everyone all stem from the hard work of labor activists.
Last week, I attended the Iowa Workers Memorial Day event in Des Moines. I hope that many of you were able to attend similar events across the state. It was such a great reminder that each of us needs to do something every day to make our own workplaces safer or speak up to ensure that our family, friends, and neighbors come home safely at the end of the work day.
Here at IDP, we’ve been working to connect with Democrats all over the state. I’m heading to Charles City tonight to join my friends Kurt Meyer and Jim Davis for an event at Aromas Coffee from 5:30 - 7 PM. If you’re in the area, feel free to stop by!
We’re working on organizing meetings and elections for the Arab-American Caucus and the Climate Change Caucus. If you’re interested in being involved in these caucuses, scroll down to find more information about how to register.
Last week, President Joe Biden announced that he will be running for re-election to build on the historic progress that his team has already made – investing in our infrastructure, unleashing American manufacturing and clean energy, and defending our freedoms.
Iowa Democrats are ready to roll up our sleeves to help him and Vice President Kamala Harris finish the job in 2024.
