This weekend, I shared in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette1 that it’s been one year since the shooting at Fox’s Pizza Den in my town of Oakmont wounded an employee. And it’s been a few months since a dear friend, who was like an uncle to my children, ended his life with a firearm. My nine-year old has “bad dreams” weekly about being shot.
This is why I’m in this fight. And it’s why I need you to make your voice heard and take urgent action ahead of the historic votes expected this week in the PA House of Representatives on our Common Agenda to End Gun Violence.2 Please don’t think that my voice is enough here to get the job done. The only way we win these critical votes this week is by getting more calls and emails into legislative offices than the gun extremists who oppose any kind of action to stem the tide of the gun violence epidemic. Your voice has power – use it.
