Hello,
The Biden Administration has recently proposed a Title IX school sports participation rule [[link removed]] that would invalidate the over 20 blanket state bans [[link removed]] on trans students playing sports consistent with their gender identity. This is incredibly important, but we need you to let them know that this rule needs to do more to ensure ALL trans and intersex students can play sports on the team that aligns with their gender identity.
We have partnered with the National Center for Transgender Equality [[link removed]] (NCTE) on a public comment portal [[link removed]] where you can let the Biden Administration know that discrimination against trans, nonbinary, and intersex students in school sports participation is unacceptable! There are separate actions for students and for supportive adults.

Who can submit a comment?
It’s really important that they hear from students that this rule impacts, parents and family of students, teachers, and other school staff, but anyone can submit a comment. Make sure to personalize your comment by using your own thoughts, words, and experiences to explain why it is essential for trans, nonbinary, and intersex young people to be able to play school sports along with their peers.
Policies like this are extremely important for our LGBTQI+ youth. These protections let students, family, and educators know they have rights and that schools have a duty to ensure all students have access to an affirming environment.

It’s up to all of us to take actions that empower LGBTQI+ students.
