RIP TO AN INCREDIBLE ABORTION HERO, DR. LEROY CARHART
Abortion Access Front is heartbroken to learn of Dr. LeRoy Carhart’s passing last week. Dr. Carhart provided safe and compassionate abortion care for the last 50 years, and made an immeasurable contribution to the abortion community. We were grateful to spend time with the CARE clinics over the last few years, from helping him move his entire office to spending a day relaxing with go-karts and margaritas for his amazing staff. We are keeping his partner, family, staff, and friends in our thoughts, and would encourage anyone wishing to honor Dr. Carhart to donate here . We’ve officially sprung into May, which, from what we’re hearing on the ground, is supposed to bring flowers instead of a torrential downpour of anti-abortion fuckery! Whatever the month brings, we’re gonna coast off some good news and ride that vibe- literally or figuratively. Dealer’s choice.

WASHINGTON DGAF ABOUT YOUR ABORTION BANS
For every state working hard to pass abortion restrictions, there’s another state out there trying to protect its citizens. Washington Governor Jay Inslee signed into law five bills designed to protect abortion and gender-affirming care; joining others like Colorado, New Mexico, and Minnesota, these laws are designed to not only expand and protect access, but to shield those accessing and providing care from the legal threats of those other mother fuckers out there. We love to see it!

WINNING TASTES SO GOOD
Sometimes the best offense is a good defense, and we appreciate the hell out of South Carolina and Nebraska holding down the line! Both states narrowly beat measures that would ban nearly all abortions- we’re talking by one damn vote in Nebraska. ONE. It’s almost like abortion actually is popular with the majority of voters in the United States, and the hard work of pro-aborts across those states paid off…whoudda thunk it?

UTAH IS SHOWING UP!
Utah is trying to eliminate indie abortion clinics (OUR FAVES) by requiring all abortion to be performed ONLY in hospitals, effectively creating an abortion ban across the state. Join orgs like Planned Parenthood Action Council of Utah and the Utah Abortion Fund for a rally to protect access on Wednesday, May 3rd from 6 PM to 7:30 PM MDT- registration link here!
