The Dimond High School senior turned in a stellar performance in the The Alaska Airlines Classic, capped off by a thrilling 42 point performance in a 70-63 loss to Trinity International School from Las Vegas in the championship game. The 6-foot guard shot 16-of-32 from the field and 7-of-8 from the line for the game and finished as the tournament scoring leader with 90 points in three games.

The winner is selected by a panel each Friday and announced Saturday at 11 a.m. on the Sports Guys on CBS Sports Radio 590AM and 96.7FM.  View past winners here.

Ruthy Hebard of Fairbanks collected her 50th career double-double and the No. 3 Oregon women's basketball team made history with a 74-56 victory over No. 4 UConn in Storrs, Connecticut.
The Ducks handed UConn its first home loss since 2013 and most lopsided loss ever at Gampel Pavilion, where the Huskies have gone 296-8 since the 1993-94 season.

Travante Williams
With the game on the line, Anchorage's Travante Williams dominated both ends of the floor to lead Sporting Lisbon to a big win between league leaders in Portugal.
One of the best two-way players in the Portuguese Basketball League flexed his muscles in the final two minutes as Williams scored four points - first making a free throw after a key steal and then draining a 3-pointer that provided the dagger in an 81-75 win over Benfica.

Daniel Hornbuckle of Fairbanks is a dangerous shooter with the game on the line.
And his range seems to be anywhere on the court.
Hornbuckle was in rhythm when he swished a 35-foot 3-point bomb at the buzzer to give Portland Community College an 85-82 win over Lane in the NWAC.

Ruthy Hebard
It was a short night for Ruthy Hebard of Fairbanks, but she played long enough to move into the No. 1 spot on the University of Oregon women's basketball team's list for most field goals.
The senior forward made 5-of-9 shots and scored 10 points in 18 minutes to help the Ducks beat Colorado 101-53 in the Pac-12.

Anchorage's Jeremy Swayman has started to pass some notable names in the University of Maine hockey history book.
The junior goaltender recently became the school record holder for career saves and climbed to No. 2 for career save percentage and No. 4 for career minutes.

The Clark College women's basketball team needed a win in the worst way and Kayla Morgan of Aniak helped make it happen.
The 5-foot-9 freshman was inserted into the starting lineup and just missed a double-double as the Penguins snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 71-43 road win over Portland in the NWAC.

Kaeleb Johnson
Two Alaskans enjoyed big scoring nights for the Spokane Sasquatsh hoops team as Anchorage's Kaeleb Johnson and Sitka's Jamal Alstrom each registered season highs in a 99-69 win over Yakima Valley in NWAC.
Johnson pumped in 20 points to match his season high and Alstrom established a new high with 15 points.

Colin King of Fairbanks crushed two home runs in his first appearance for the Porterville College baseball team.
The sophomore designated hitter mashed his first tater with one out in the third inning to extend his team's lead to 3-1.
He made it 4-1 with a solo blast in the fifth inning to push the lead to 4-1.

Lyndon Prayer
Lyndon Prayer of Anchorage tied his season high with five 3-pointers on his way to scoring 20 points for Imperial Valley College men's basketball in an 89-65 loss to Southwestern in California.
This was the second time in 22 games this season that the sophomore guard has reached the 20-point plateau. His season his is 21.
Prayer, of West High fame, ranks second on his team with a 10.5-point scoring average.
He has made a team-high 46 3-pointers and has knocked down at least one triple in 18 of 22 games.

Will Ross lives and trains near sea level, so achieving the podium was a big surprise at the Borealis Fat Bike World Championships in Crested Butte, Colorado.
"Today was hands down the best day I've ever had at altitude," Ross said on Facebook. "I'm still in shock I was able to pull off a 3rd place ... against such a stacked field."

Crested Butte sits in the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of about 8,900 feet.
Ross, a 30-year-old professional triathlete from Anchorage, completed the 28.75-mile course in 1 hour, 45 minutes and 38 seconds on Jan. 25. He raced with eventual winner and defending champion Josiah Middaugh (1:42:51) of Vail, Co., through two of five laps before falling back.
Sixty-six racers contested the main event, which was held on Nordic skiing trails normally off-limits to bikers.

Sean Rash
Anchorage's Sean Rash beat four consecutive opponents, including top qualifier Ryan Ciminelli of South Carolina in the championship match, to win the PBA Oklahoma Open for his 15th career title.
Rash rolled 10 consecutive strikes in the final to score a 289-234 victory and pocket $30,000 of prize money.
