CPD’s signature Washington, DC fundraiser, The Guiding Light Awards, is less than two months away on Tuesday, March 31! Over 300 philanthropists, frontline organizers, strategic partners and allies will gather at Busboys and Poets from 6:30–9:30pm to plan for our most important fight yet, and honor amazing individuals, like Ibram X. Kendi for his role in supporting the movement.

Dr. Kendi is one of America’s leading historians pioneering anti-racist voices.Throughout his career, Dr. Kendi has sought novel and practical ways to understand, explain, and solve the seemingly intractable problems of racial inequity and injustice.
As the Founding Director of The Antiracist Research & Policy Center at American University, Dr. Kendi leads a vibrant community of academics, researchers and policy experts building a research and policy platform, and mass education initiatives. Dr. Kendi is also a bestselling author of several books, including Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America which won the National Book Award (NBA) for Nonfiction.
