Seeing you stand with me through the difficult moments makes all of my work worthwhile.

John,

It weighs on you.

Going toe-to-toe with Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene on the Oversight Committee.

Fielding hateful calls and comments directed at me and my staff.

Watching anti-LGBTQ+ bills pass through the halls of Congress.

I’ve always said that being a middle school teacher was some of the best prep work I could have done before choosing to run for Congress, and I still stand by it. It helped me build a thick skin, learn how to think quickly on my feet, and diffuse arguments among peers.

But some days, this work can be extremely difficult. It’s hard not to feel personally impacted when your humanity and the dignity of those that you love is being put up for debate. Today’s political environment is not for the faint of heart, but I’m honored to be a voice for reason and respect through it all.

Knowing that you’re still standing with me makes all of this work worthwhile, John. And ahead of tonight’s big deadline, it would mean the world to see a donation come in from you on ActBlue.

Here’s the link to give: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/BBVT-AL-Email-April2023-FR-EOM?refcode=deadline

A little reassurance that my grassroots supporters stand behind me while things intensify in Washington means a lot.

As always: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
