Hey there,
We’re about to wrap up the first month of the new FEC quarter, so I wanted to give you one final update on our fundraising progress before April is over.
We still need to bring in $2,830 to reach our monthly fundraising goal – so stay tuned for five (very compelling, I think) reasons to chip in $5 and help us over the finish line:
(If you’re in a rush and want to make a contribution before I get on my soapbox, you can chip in here).
- It’s (sadly) looking more and more like Donald Trump will be the GOP nominee for president, and Democrats need to be prepared for record-shattering Republican turnout across the country. Now is the time to invest in smart, cost-effective, and well-tested campaign strategies so we’re not scrambling to catch up come 2024.
- Early fundraising is one of the key predictors pundits rely on to understand the political landscape. If we fall short, we’ll feed the narrative of Democratic apathy right when we need to project enthusiasm.
- Republicans have a number of awful policies on their to-do-list: Abortion bans, defunding Social Security and Medicare, revoking protections for pre-existing conditions, and – no joke – revoking child labor laws. They need to see that voters across the country are paying attention and taking action to stop them.
- The end of April means that the infamous “Summer Slump” is peeking around the corner. We need to make sure that we have the resources we need to keep things running smoothly AND make up for likely budget shortfalls before folks log off for much-deserved summer relaxation.
- By making an early contribution, you’re planting a seed that will help our campaign grow over the course of the next year and a half. It’s a critical investment in programs like voter outreach, communication, and registration that will pay dividends come next November.
Whew – long story short, your $5 really does make a difference. Can I count on you to pitch in before midnight?
Thank you for your support,
Sean Casten
