We've seen rural folks getting hit hard from all sides by right-wing extremists in Congress. This week's disastrous debt ceiling bill was just the latest example.
The bill is a worst-hits album of attacks on rural America: devastating cuts to nutrition assistance, veterans' benefits, job training, and health care. It even cuts funding for the telehealth services that families rely on.
Yet MAGA Republicans act like they're fighting for rural communities. It's up to us to get the truth out about what GOP policies are really doing.
Right now, we're up against a tight monthly fundraising deadline that will determine the scale of our plans to put the GOP on notice. Pitch in $3 before midnight tonight and we can close this gap. [[link removed]]
The debt ceiling bill is the latest hit in a series of policies that undermine rural America: refusal to expand Medicaid, draconian restrictions on reproductive rights, cuts to housing assistance, massive tax breaks to corporations and the super-wealthy, and on and on.
Here's the thing: it's not enough to simply stop the Republican attacks on rural communities, or even to reverse them. We're fighting to make sure the needs of rural communities aren't just an afterthought, but a robust part of the plan from the start.
Chip in $3 right now toward the mission to put rural Americans front and center in Congress and on the campaign trail. [[link removed]]
Together, we'll make sure rural communities have a voice in Washington.
