As I got home from D.C. late Friday night, I was still caught up in the excitement of the last two weeks. We are taking on huge battles, and winning. We're fighting for the future of our country. I've never been more focused on anything. Hope is an amazing feeling.
Amidst all of this, I almost forgot it's the end of the month. I almost didn't notice that a Democrat declared his candidacy for the Third District and is taking daily aim at us. I
almost forgot that the DCCC has placed us on its list of 31 targets for flipping the House.
I almost lost track of our fundraising numbers, which ended up in a healthy place at the end of Q1 but have fallen well behind the needed pace for Q2. I've now been reminded how important these things are; even a short spell of inattention on this front could jeopardize everything we are fighting for.
So admittedly, we need to play catch-up for this end-of-month deadline...Nearly a month's support in a day's time. I know it's a tall order, but I would be immensely grateful for your help.
To give you a sense of the political landscape, here is a recent report from
NBC News:
"House Majority PAC, the main Democratic group that spends in House races, announced Tuesday it plans to spend $35 million in California in the 2024 election cycle. Democrats need a net gain of just five seats to win the House next year, and California will be a key part of their path to the majority."
So at the
moment, we stand at the intersection of power and vulnerability.
After fighting so long to hold Newsom and the Supermajority at bay, the shoe is on the other foot. We have the majority. We have a gavel. We have a national platform to expose Newsom and his cronies.
But our hold on that power is tenuous. The way to solidify it, so we can wield it for the purpose of saving our state and country, is with an overwhelming show of citizen support in this crucial window of time heading into the 2024 election cycle.
That is the power that you have, as part of our movement of citizens and patriots. We've already seen how awesome that power is: Because of your support, we won the majority-making 218th seat in the House, firing Nancy Pelosi as Speaker.
That in itself is changing the course of history. Our movement has already had momentous consequences for America. And I truly believe the best is yet to come.
