John,
In Florida, Republican politicians are taking even more oppressive steps to make voting difficult.
Senate Republicans just released a 98-page bill to speed up when voters are scrubbed from the voting rolls, change campaign finance deadlines and increase fines for people who make errors when registering to vote. Republicans promote these bills under the guise of “voter fraud,” but we know these policies are all designed to give Republicans an advantage at the ballot box.

The substance of the bill is bad enough – but Republicans are also engaging in shady tactics to limit the opportunity for public scrutiny and accountability. This bill was released only 24 hours before the first hearing’s were set.
While Florida is the most recent example, Republican state representatives across America are working to enact anti-voting legislation.
As voters face a web of confusing new voting laws, it’s more important than ever that we fight back.
The good news is – we have the power to strike back at Republican voter suppression efforts. At Power the Vote, we’re funding voter protection staff who are working on the ground in battleground states to help voters overcome barriers to voting.
Make an investment in democracy by giving to Power the Vote today. With your help we can invest in critical swing states like Florida and make sure that we have pro-democracy allies in office advocating on our behalf. [[link removed]]

We Fund Voter Protection
In 2020, we ran the Democratic Party’s Voter Protection Program in Georgia, when the state flipped blue for the first time in nearly 30 years.
We pioneered a new model of voter protection, built on sustained investments and long-lasting relationships.
Now, we’re building on that success and adapting the Georgia model to fight voter suppression in other states.
