John,

They say your budget is a reflection of your values.

If that's true, then House Republicans just made one hell of a statement in the ongoing debt ceiling negotiations. Last week, the House GOP passed a debt limit bill that would make drastic cuts to child care and veterans benefits, and add harsh work requirements for families who receive Medicaid and food stamps.

Of course, there's nothing in their bill about billionaires paying their fair share or closing corporate tax loopholes. Raising the debt ceiling should be a routine process, but McCarthy and his extreme-right flank couldn't resist holding the budget hostage at the expense of working families.

Moments like these are strong reminders about why we need sensible leadership in Washington. We need unified Democratic control, and that can only happen if we retake the House majority

I'm used to tough campaigns, and we know that early resources can have a huge impact in shaping the dynamics of this race. It could mean larger PACs decide not to spend against me. It can also prevent potential opponents from jumping in.

We’re relying on individual supporters like you to keep this seat blue. So thank you in advance for chipping in.

Thank you,
