John,
Last month, María Teresa reached out to you to talk about the three-year anniversary of President Trump’s racist, xenophobic, and Islamophobic Muslim travel ban -- and his rumored plans to expand it.
Well, the rumors were true: Trump officially added six new countries to the travel ban, including Sudan, Tanzania, Eritrea, Myanmar, Kyrgyzstan, and Nigeria (Africa’s most populous nation with the continent’s largest economy).
This news to expand the ban is disappointing, though not surprising, as Trump continues to stoke fear of immigrants, Muslims, and people of color ahead of his re-election this November.
We can’t let the racist-in-chief get away with this: it’s on us to respond to this expansion as forcefully as we did when the ban was first introduced, and call on those in power to do whatever it takes to stop it.
Will you add your name to our petition today calling on Congress and the courts to stop Trump’s Muslim ban expansion now? [[link removed]]

Expanding this policy means separating more families and loved ones across the globe. As long as Trump is in power, we must keep up la lucha to stop him from hurting more people.
