AAVS affiliate, the Alternatives Research & Development Foundation, is feeling proud this month! ARDF grantee Dongeun (Dan) Huh and his team at the University of Pennsylvania had an article published in the leading journal, Science. The article explains how combining two new technologies, 'organoids' and 'organ-on-a-chip,' will help create advanced models of human organs for drug testing and other research. Jungle Friends

Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary shared this sweet moment between two of their monkey residents. Social relationships are so important to primates, that when given the choice, many will choose companionship over food. Unfortunately, for primates in labs, sitting close and putting your arm around a friend is often not possible. Jungle Friends is home to many monkeys who’ve been released from labs and has received annual support from AAVS’s Sanctuary Fund since 2006. READ MORE »
