FROM THE CAMPAIGN MANAGER'S DESK
Hey, it’s Brad — and I have some exciting news.
Since October, our main focus at Luján HQ has been collecting signatures to get Ben Ray on the ballot. Under New Mexico law, campaigns like ours are required to collect
thousands of nominating signatures from Democratic voters to qualify for the June primary.
It’s a big undertaking — but meeting the signature collection threshold shows the grassroots power behind our campaign.
Our signature collection teams braved chilly temperatures and spoke with thousands of voters. In the end, we beat our signature collection goal — highlighting the grassroots energy that drives our campaign.
We couldn’t have done this without you. During the last two months of signature collection, hundreds of New Mexicans volunteered in their communities or participated in our virtual signature drive. This impressive mobilization is a great sign of the enthusiasm our campaign is generating.
Thanks for being a part of this,
Brad Elkins

ENDORSEMENT UPDATE
LATINO VICTORY FUND ENDORSES BEN RAY. On January 22, the Latino Victory Fund endorsed Ben Ray for U.S. Senate. The Latino Victory Fund was one of the earliest supporters of our campaign and launched a Run, Ben Ray, Run! campaign in early 2019 to draft Ben Ray into the race.
Building Latino and Hispanic political power has always been an important goal for Ben Ray. During his time as chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Ben Ray helped to elect the most diverse Congress in history and increased Latino turnout in midterm elections by 174 percent. |
HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN ENDORSES BEN RAY. On January 23, the Human Rights Campaign also endorsed Ben Ray's campaign for U.S. Senate. HRC is one of the strongest champions for LGBTQ+ rights in the United States and Ben Ray is proud to earn their endorsement. |
FINANCE UPDATEIT’S TIME TO END CITIZENS UNITED. January 21 was the 10th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s disastrous
Citizens United decision. Since
Citizens United was decided in 2010, corporate interests have spent billions of dollars influencing American elections and undermining the will of American voters.
Ben Ray is committed to undoing the damage of big money in politics
. He is a co-sponsor of legislation to overturn
Citizens United and our campaign proudly refuses all corporate PAC contributions.
If you believe that campaigns should be funded by people (not corporations), please consider
making a grassroots donation to help our campaign. With big money flowing into New Mexico to fund our Republican opponents, even $5 can make a difference.

POLITICAL UPDATECOUNTY CONVENTIONS ARE IN FULL SWING! Over the next three weeks, counties across New Mexico will hold ward meetings and nominating conventions to elect delegates to the state pre-primary convention in March. Strong turnout at these events is an important sign of Democratic strength across the state, and attending is a great way to meet other Democrats in your community.

YOU SHOULD RUN FOR DELEGATE. On Wednesday, February 5, our campaign is teaming up with Deb Haaland's campaign to host a joint delegate training in Albuquerque. The training will cover frequently asked questions about the delegate election process and walk attendees through the process of running for delegate. All registered Democrats are welcome to attend.
