John, Veronica here.

I'm so proud to hit the ground running as Elaine's new campaign manager! This message is a bit longer, but I wanted to take a moment to discuss the state of our race.

It's no secret that Elaine is already facing a tough re-election. Despite representing one of the top eight most competitive Trump districts in the country, Elaine made the patriotic -- not the politically expedient -- decision to call for Donald Trump's impeachment.

As a result, national Republican groups have spent $500,000 on attack ads against Elaine and former Republican Congressman Scott Taylor entered the race for a rematch.

To top it off, our fundraising numbers in January dramatically underperformed from where we need to be.

(I wouldn't be a good campaign manager if I didn't stop right now to ask you to pitch in → [link removed])

You all know how much work it took to elect Elaine in 2018 when she flipped this Trump district by just 2.3 points. Now, she's up against even tougher odds.

I look forward to working with you all in the coming months to put this campaign on a path to victory and keep Elaine fighting for Coastal Virginia in Congress.

I'll be sure to stay in touch with updates from the campaign trail and on our strategy moving forward -- because I know you all are a vital part of this campaign.

In the meantime, will you chip in to help our fundraising numbers get on track? We're going head to head with some of the most well-funded dark money groups in the country -- we can't fall behind >>

Nice to meet you, and thanks for your help!
