Governor Glenn Youngkin spent most of the last week on his first international
trade mission as Governor.

The Governor visited Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan to forge stronger economic
partnerships between America’s international allies and the Commonwealth.

This week, Governor Youngkin signed an executive order establishing Virginia’s
first office for economic development in Taipei.



By establishing Virginia’s first office for economic development in Taipei, we
are forging a deeper relationship with Taiwan and strengthening not only the
economic heart of Virginia but America.

While in Japan, Governor Youngkin met with troops from the Commonwealth. The
Governor thanked each of them for their courage, commitment, and dedication to
keeping us safe. It often falls on our armed forces to meet the gathering
threats and defend freedom across the globe.

“I think it was an honor, honestly,” said Senior Airman Olivia Klotz, a
Virginia native assigned to the 374th Comptroller Squadron. “I haven’t heard of
any other governors coming down and having breakfast with military members, and
I think that really attests to his character.”

Governor Youngkin met with Prime Minister of South Korea Han Duck-Soo to
discuss the future of the bilateral trade relationship between South Korea and
the Commonwealth.



“With Virginia’s excellent educational institutions, developing workforce
programs, growing business-ready sites, and increasingly competitive tax
profile, Virginia looks forward to growing as a prime business partner for
South Korea,” said Governor Glenn Youngkin.

During Women and Girls' Wellness Month, the Governor and First Lady celebrated
Virginia's natural and outdoor traditions, a core component of well-being.



The Executive Mansion featured indigenous Virginia flowers and plants from the
Boxwood Garden Club and teemed with more than 600 visitors to celebrate the
90th anniversary of National Garden Week.



The First Lady also joined the Garden Club of Virginia and the Petersburg
Garden Club at Flowerdew Hundred in Prince George County to talk about
Strengthen the Spirit of Virginia's Women+girls. The Governor and First Lady
planted a dogwood tree on the Executive Mansion grounds in honor of Earth Day
and Arbor Day.

The First Lady joined Fear 2 Freedom (F2F) to address a luncheon during Sexual
Assault Awareness Month. F2F works with colleges, hospitals, domestic violence
shelters, women's resource organizations, and healthcare partners to bring hope
to sexual assault survivors.

Treaty that was formed to foster cooperation and peaceful coexistence between
