Hi John,
The GOP, a.k.a. the party of chaos, is full steam ahead working to enact their agenda to strip women of their autonomy, take away crucial life-saving programs for millions and impose laws that harm Americans.
As House Republicans debated their budget proposal this week, they considered:
- Slashing funding to the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, stripping vital nutrition assistance away from over 250,000 women, infants, and children
- Making cuts to vital safety net programs that would leave families struggling to put food on the table and attend to their health care needs
- Imposing work requirements on recipients of federal aid, including Medicaid, causing millions of people to lose coverage — this made it into the framework the House GOP passed on Wednesday
- Ax funding for schools with low-income students and students with disabilities, impacting over 30 million students
As co-founder and co-chair of the Black Maternal Health Caucus, Lauren is championing the fight to remedy the Black maternal health crisis and has a unique understanding of how vital social programs are in saving lives and improving maternal and child health outcomes.
While the GOP is pushing to make cuts to these vital programs, Lauren is focused on not only expanding critical investments for them, but also prioritizing children's health and wellbeing by standing up to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for failing to regulate e-cigarettes and combat the nationwide youth vaping epidemic.
Lauren is working to overcome the GOP’s plans to jeopardize the health and safety of families and children across our country, but she needs our grassroots movement to power her efforts to compete with Republicans bankrolled by ultra wealthy dark money donors.
John, please donate toward our April fundraising goal ahead of Sunday’s deadline to help ensure our campaign has the resources to keep Lauren in this critical fight:
