I need to explain something.

Donations to this email are extremely important - maybe more important than most other campaign emails. I’ll explain more below but if you’re able to be one of the 17 folks we need to donate, I’d be very appreciative.

In the days ahead of the election, pundits moved our race to a toss-up and other Senators called me concerned that we couldn’t win. Not only that, but far-right outside groups were pouring money in to defeat us and prop up our election-denying opponent.

We had to take on debt in order to win. The good news is that it worked and I was elected to a second term.

The bad news is that we are still paying down our bills. We’ve got a plan in place to pay them down but it requires that 17 people like you donate to this exact email. Most people chip in $3 – which is what I’m hoping you can give – but I’d be grateful for anything you can donate.
