Team,
Last week, I gave my 21st speech on the Senate Floor to expose the special interest scheme to capture the Supreme Court. I’ve been at this fight a long time, and we’ve got momentum now.
In my speech, I talked about the ingredients that make up the cocktail of the special interests’ scheme. You’ve got creepy right-wing billionaires, phony front groups, justices amenable to overtures, large sums of money, and secrecy. And in recent months we’ve had a front row seat, thanks to Justice Thomas, to see how these ingredients mix to tarnish the judicial branch.
For many years, Justice Thomas has received luxury trips and extravagant gifts from Republican billionaire Harlan Crow. And Thomas didn’t disclose the sale of a string of properties to that same billionaire — in what appears to be a clear violation of existing ethics rules.
This is exactly why we need to pass my Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency (SCERT) Act. The Court is in serious need of stronger recusal standards and disclosure rules, and an enforcement mechanism for a binding code of ethics. Can you support my work by contributing towards my end-of-month fundraising goal? Your support goes a long way toward keeping me in this fight.

Again: Why does the highest court in our country have the lowest standards? SCOTUS has squandered the benefit of the doubt that it can police itself.
The integrity of the Court is at stake.
Thank you,
Sheldon
