Team,

Anti-abortion extremists in the Ohio state legislature have gone on record admitting that their attempts to increase the approval threshold for ballot measures to an undemocratic 60% supermajority is because they don’t want voters to pass a measure to protect abortion this fall.

The state Senate just successfully referred this disastrous measure to the ballot, and now a vote is expected any day now from the House — so, we must be ready to fight back. That’s why we set a goal to bring in 500 monthly supporters to power our movement through 2023 and into 2024. Will you make a monthly gift to power our work and protect ballot measures in Ohio and across the country, friend?

Ohio isn’t the only state trying to enact major restrictions on the power of voter-driven ballot measures, team. In Missouri, Florida, South Dakota and Idaho, several proposals have also been introduced to increase the number of districts signatures must be collected from to qualify an issue for the ballot, or to raise the threshold for passing ballot measures.

We’re building up the resources to fight back with our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign, but to be successful, we need to know that all of our supporters back this movement.

Friend: Will you make a recurring gift to the Fairness Project today to help us reach our 500-person monthly donor goal? Voters in Ohio and across the country are depending on us to defend their voting rights.
