Wyoming?s bears are waking from hibernation throughout the state. The bears? spring emergence serves as a reminder for outdoor recreationalists and homeowners in bear-inhabited areas of Wyoming to brush up on bear safety. [ [link removed] ]






Nominations being accepted for WY Youth Conservationist of the Year

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department wants to recognize youth who have made significant contributions to the outdoors. Game and Fish is?accepting nominations?for the Wyoming Youth Conservationist of the Year award. *The award honors a Wyoming resident 18 years or younger who has demonstrated leadership and accomplishment in any aspect of conservation, either individually or as part of a group. Shed antler and horn collecting postponed on designated lands until 6 a.m May 15
Shed antler

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has announced an emergency extended closure of the shed antler and horn hunting regulation to protect big game on winter ranges. The emergency regulation extends the current closure until 6 a.m. May 15 on designated lands, excluding Teton County. [ [link removed] ]

The award honors companies whose primary mission is not wildlife-related, but who choose to make a positive impact through development and improvement for the benefit of fish, wildlife or habitat. Wildlife in town 2023

The state of Wyoming has been taking some punches from Mother Nature this winter and spring, and along with it, some residents are getting a closer-than-usual view of Wyoming?s wildlife?in some cases right in their front yard. Wildlife moving into town during the winter months is nothing new, but this winter and spring, wildlife ranging from moose to mountain lions have appeared in numerous Wyoming communities and coming into conflict with people?due in large part to deep snows and covered landscapes pushing them there.
