But expanding military posturing does not make us all safer. Video: Working toward decolonization in Guatemala: In Chimaltenango, Guatemala, staff from local organizations came together to reflect on their shared experiences of colonialism—and how these harmful practices could be deconstructed. “It is important for us to generate awareness of those ideas which still reproduce social problems today,” said one participant. Now the USDA is proposing to lower that threshold to 25% to expand free school meals to millions of children.
