Newsletter
Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020
One of the newsletters I regularly read is written by Robert Hubbell. His Feb. 1 newsletter concluded with a comment worth sharing:

While we don’t have complete control over our fates in 2020, we have enough control over the outcome to be hopeful. Remember, the Senate just voted against the wishes of 70% of the American people. The only reason to do so is that they are afraid that the truth will be worse than facing the wrath of the voters. Spoiler alert for Republicans: The awful truth will emerge, and you will face the wrath of the voters.

We must continue to fight with every ounce of energy we can muster. It is the right thing to do for our nation, we have no other choice, and it is the only path to victory. Take a break over the weekend and get back to work next week. We have an election to win in 2020.

Also, Hubbell's newsletter always includes the following sage advice, which I hope you'll apply to this EDC Democratic newsletter:
The last thing I want to do is add to anyone’s stress, so read these newsletters only so long as they are helpful to you in making sense of these turbulent times. Otherwise, put down your smartphone and go for a walk. Be well!

2020 Census Jobs Available in El Dorado County

The Census is mandated in Article 1 of the US Constitution that every 10 years there be a count of the entire population of the US and its territories. This count sets congressional representation and federal funding for the county for the next 10 years and is very important that we have accurate data for fair funding.

Census forms will be hitting the mail March of 2020 and people need to fill out their forms as of the date of April 1, 2020. They will have the option to fill out the packet sent to them, go online (link will be in packet) or call a secure phone line listed in the packet.

2020 Census Jobs Available

The 2020 Census is seeking part time census takers in El Dorado County. Anyone over 18 year old with a valid social security number or work authorization and an email may apply online at ** 2020census.gov/jobs ([link removed])
. Positions are temporary part time with employee setting their own schedule based on availability. These jobs are paying. $18/hr with a 58 cents/mile mileage reimbursement. Applicants need reliable transportation to get to work.
