In case you missed it — our movement is making headlines, Friend.

POLITICO recently highlighted LCV’s campaign to pass historic climate legislation, which culminated when President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act last year.

This legislation commits nearly $370 billion to advance clean energy, green jobs, and environmental justice and is already spurring climate progress nationwide.

I hope you’ll take the time to take a peek behind the scenes — on Capitol Hill, in the White House, and in communities across the country — where we’ve taken the fight over many years to demand climate action from elected leaders.

“How the Climate Movement
Learned to Win in Washington”

“Lawmakers were hearing and feeling that this is now a top issue and that there’s broad support for climate.”

Senior Vice President, Campaigns
League of Conservation Voters

Time after time, the pundits counted us out. They said we could never win — not while corporate polluters and fossil fuel companies continue to flood Washington with their army of lobbyists and endless campaign contributions.

This piece shows why they were wrong. Polluters may have billions of dollars in profits and the ability to buy access and influence… but they don’t have you. This victory could not have happened without you, Friend — you and hundreds of thousands of other passionate environmentalists, constituents, and advocates across the country who want a healthy future for our Earth and together, are compelling our leaders to act.

I won’t spoil all the details. You’ll want to read this for yourself — you can take a look at POLITICO’s deep dive into our movement’s success here.

Thanks for standing with us through the hard times and the good times, Friend. I’m proud to finally share the story of this victory.

Onward,

Gene Karpinski
President
League of Conservation Voters
