Republican state Supreme Court Justices just ruled to take power away from the people and hand it to an out-of-control Republican legislature.

In an unprecedented partisan decision, the Justices simply ignored the Court’s decision of five months ago that prohibited partisan gerrymandering. Instead, they ruled that the constitution is powerless to stop the Republican legislators from engaging in radical gerrymandering that will aid the GOP’s supermajorities in Raleigh and encumber Democrats’ chances of taking back the U.S. House majority.

Rather than serve as a check on our legislature, the state Supreme Court Justices bowed to partisan politicians more concerned with clinging onto their own power than respecting the will of the people.
