Grassroots International would like to pay tribute to Mel King, a great civil rights leader, organizer, and human rights defender in Boston, where the office of Grassroots International is based.

Mel passed away at 94 years old recently, having devoted decades to struggles for the dignity and self-determination of poor and working-class people. He was a friend and an ally to social movements worldwide and touched the lives of many in the Grassroots International community.

Solidarity Encounters for 2023!

Last year, Grassroots International piloted Solidarity Encounters, a new donor engagement program — and we are now pleased to announce its formal launch!

Solidarity Encounters are virtual, live, participatory forums for donors, prospective donors, and other members of our community. Through these spaces, we share about the work of Grassroots International and our frontline movement partners — their analyses, frameworks, visions, challenges, learnings, and transformative practices.

Click the link to see the full program for this year and to register for our upcoming encounter on Ecological Crisis: False Solutions & Climate Justice Frameworks, featuring an exciting line-up of speakers.
