Ohio Governor Mike DeWine cutting the ribbbon at the Montgomery County Crisis Receiving Center
On *Monday*, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine traveled to Montgomery County to attend the Montgomery County Crisis Receiving Center's ribbon cutting. The center?will provide services 24/7 to people experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. Law enforcement will also be able to use this center, rather than taking people to the emergency room or jail.?

Governor DeWine meeting with the 2023 Division II National Champion Ashland University Women's Basketball Team. State Rep. Melanie Miller (R-Ashland) and AU President Carlos Campo joined for the celebratory photo.
Lastly, on *Monday*, Governor DeWine visited with Ashland University's Women's Basketball Team.?These outstanding athletes won the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship earlier this month.

On?*Tuesday [ [link removed] ]*,?Governor DeWine awarded more than $42 million to support physical safety and security upgrades at hundreds of Ohio schools.?
A total of 624 schools will receive funding as part of the fifth round of?Ohio's K-12 School Safety Grant Program. This new round of funding brings the total number of schools served by this program to?2,789 and the total amount of funding awarded to more than $215 million.
"Our educators care deeply about the safety of Ohio students, as evidenced by the thousands of schools that came forward with solid security improvement plans that they intend to carry out with this funding," said Governor DeWine. "There is nothing more important than the safety of our kids, and with today's announcement, every qualifying school that applied for a grant has now received at least one award, including schools in all 88 counties."

Governor Jon Husted provided remarks at?Cardinal Health at-Home Solutions Distribution Center's ribbon-cutting in Grove City.?This 208,144 square foot warehouse-of-the-future will accommodate rapid business growth, located strategically within the Ohio Valley region, a major geographic transit hub.

On *Wednesday,*?Governor DeWine and First Lady Fran DeWine provided remarks at the Ohio Library Council's Library Legislative Day at the Ohio Statehouse. Library Legislative Day brings together more than 300 public library directors, fiscal officers, trustees and supporters to advocate for the importance of libraries.?
The event aligned with Governor DeWine's literacy priorities, which are outlined in his proposed budget for fiscal years 2024-2025.

Holocaust remembrance 3 [ [link removed] ]
Also on Thursday, Governor DeWine hosted the 43rd annual Ohio Governor's Holocaust Commemoration. The event honored Holocaust survivor Louise Gips of Cleveland and liberator Robert Coyne of Newark. Also featured as a guest speaker was Emmy-award winning director Mike Edwards, who discussed his upcoming documentary "A Train Near Magdeburg." In addition, the Ohio Holocaust and Genocide Memorial and Education Commission promoted a traveling exhibition featuring the history of the Warsaw, Poland, ghetto uprising that is displayed until May 19 in the hallway outside the Governor?s Ceremonial Office in the Statehouse.
