There are a few updates and upcoming meetings regarding commercial offshore wind development in the Gulf of Maine that many of you may be interested in.? First, BOEM announced the Call for Information and Nominations and request for comments on the Gulf of Maine Call Area.? The comment period ends on June 12, 2023. Updated information and a link to the Federal Register notice with additional information and details on how to submit comments can be found here: https://www.boem.gov/renewable-energy/state-activities/maine/gulf-maine Second, BOEM is planning to hold the next Gulf of Maine Intergovernmental Renewable Energy Task Force meeting on May 10-11 at the Cross Insurance center in Bangor.? Members of the public are encouraged to attend the task force meeting, and there will be opportunities for public input. This briefing in an opportunity to hear a summary about the BOEM Gulf of Maine Task Force and other offshore wind related topics in advance of the Task Force meeting on May 10-11.? This briefing will provide an update on BOEM activities within the U.S., provide an overview of energy in Maine, and provide updates on the Maine Offshore Wind Initiative and how that relates to the Task Force process.?
