Nominate a kid for the Youth Conservationist of the Year!

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department wants to recognize youth who have made significant contributions to the outdoors.

Medicine Lodge Kids Outdoor Day

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department wants to recognize youth who have made significant contributions to the outdoors. Game and Fish is accepting nominations [ [link removed] ] for the Wyoming Youth Conservationist of the Year award. The award honors a Wyoming resident 18 years or younger who has demonstrated leadership and accomplishment in any aspect of conservation, either individually or as part of a group.

?Wyoming youth are making fantastic contributions to our state?s outdoors and wildlife in many ways,? said Brian Nesvik, Game and Fish director. ?We created this award to recognize youth who are accomplishing great things for our state and to encourage other young people to take on projects that help conserve our natural resources for future use.?

Anyone can nominate a young person for the award. The nomination packet is available online [ [link removed] ]. A selection committee of individuals from Game and Fish, outdoor and conservation organizations and the community who have exhibited a long-term commitment to conservation in the State of Wyoming will examine the nominations and choose one winner each year.

2023 Table Mountain Mentored Elk Hunt
Table Mountain [ [link removed] ]

The Table Mountain Elk Hunt is a mentored hunt program designed to teach youth and women the basic hunting skills used in elk hunting. Three 3-day sessions will be held in August.

During the three-day hunt, participants will be provided with food and housing in Newcastle, Wyoming. Participants will learn various skills, including safe firearm handling, hunt scouting, field dressing and blood tracking. These skills will be used on your mentored hunt to harvest a cow elk.?
