I know it can be frustrating to receive fundraising requests this early in the race. I get it. In fact, my least favorite part of the job is asking folks for money. But making early investments in our 2024 race — which is possible thanks to emails like this one — ensures that overall I can spend less time fundraising and more time doing the work my constituents elected me to do for them.

And John, those early investments will be critical to our race next year. The GOP establishment has already named me as one of their top targets in 2024, and they have already put their money where their mouth is by running an attack ad against me last month.

We have to be ready to respond, which is why I’m reaching out to you today.

Right now, my team says we’re about $7,000 short of our April fundraising goal. Hitting monthly goals this year is how we ensure that we’ll be ready to win next year, so can I count on you to help out with a contribution of $5 or more today to help get us back on track?
