John,
In just two days, we face the end of April and with it our first end-of-month fundraising deadline since I was sworn in to office. Before I ask if you can chip in $10 or more toward our goal, I hope you’ll let me explain what we’ve achieved together and why your contribution matters.
Today marks our first 100 days in office. When Aruna and I were running to become your next governor and lieutenant governor of Maryland, we always said that we’d get to work on Day 1 to deliver on the promises we made along the campaign trail. I’m proud to say we’ve been living up to that promise.
Three months into the Moore-Miller administration, I’m thrilled to have successfully passed all 10 out of 10 bills that I authored, signed dozens of additional bills into law, and taken executive action on issues like protecting Marylanders’ right to legally access safe abortion.
From creating a first-of-its-kind paid service year option for high school graduates, to raising the minimum wage to $15 ahead of schedule, to expanding tax breaks for families and taking steps to end child poverty, we are delivering for Marylanders of every background living in every part of our great state.
While other states move backward and fall further into extremism, Maryland is coming together and leading the way on service, reproductive choice, clean energy, opportunities for work, wages, and wealth, and ensuring that no one is left behind.
We’ve accomplished a lot in the last 100 days, but we’re just getting started!
Your votes, your grassroots donations, and your efforts made this progress possible. Like I’ve always said, it’s a movement, not a moment.
In order to keep our movement going for the long-haul, we need to keep our campaign accounts fueled while Aruna and I travel the state and continue making progress on the issues facing our communities.
This Sunday is our first deadline since our three-month fundraising freeze, and I’m counting on this incredible team to come together and reach our $10,000 goal. Will you pitch in $10 or whatever you can afford to show your support and ensure we keep moving forward?
