The first independent public poll in the mayor's race shows Helen Gym and her opponents locked in a five-way tie.

Philadelphia hasn’t had a mayoral race this close in decades, and with an opportunity to elect one of the most progressive mayors a big city has ever seen — we have a pivotal role to play before Election Day.

Helen has made it her life’s work to be there for Philadelphia’s working people — and she’s the only candidate running for mayor who didn't wait for elected office to try and bring real change to the city.
Before she was a city councilmember, Helen was an elementary school teacher and community organizer. She helped lead a broad-based coalition of educators, parents, and youth against public school disinvestment in Black and brown neighborhoods, and the transfer of public resources to private interests.
Now, she’s running for mayor to continue doing what she’s been doing over the past 30 years — fighting for a Philadelphia where public schools are fully-funded, youth are supported, neighbors are housed, and communities are safe.
