TFN's program for young Texans, Texas Rising, had a milestone moment today when it endorsed a congressional candidate for the first time.

We're proud to announce that Texas Rising Action has endorsed Jessica Cisneros in the March 3 Texas Democratic primary for U.S. House Distrct 28.

Jessica is an immigration and human rights attorney from Laredo running to represent a district that stretches from parts of the Rio Grande Valley to Jessica's hometown and up to San Antonio.

If elected, Jessica has pledged to be a progressive champion for young people who will defend reproductive rights, stand up for equality, defend our immigrant communities and take action on the climate crisis.

By contrast, her Democratic opponent by some estimates has voted upwards of 70 percent of the time to support the policies of the Trump administration. Clearly, south Texans need a representative in Congress who can be trusted to stand on their side, and that's Jessica. 

This first endorsement of a congressional candidate is part of Texas Rising's mission to bring progressive change to our local communities, our state and our country.
