Over the last few years it has been a joy for me to be involved with the Honor Flights Program here in San Diego. This organization endeavors to provide a chaperoned trip to our amazing World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans, for the purpose of allowing them to enjoy and appreciate the amazing memorials which have been built in Washington D.C., to honor their heroic service to our country.
If you have ever seen the terrific documentary about these flights, you know that the arrival home from these trips is itself remarkable. These men and women, often so humble about their amazing contributions to our nation's history, are provided a deeply touching and emotional welcome home from grateful San Diegans of all ages. It is truly over-whelming.
This Sunday, I will be at the San Diego airport to join others welcoming these heroes home from this well deserved trip. Please join us if you would like, and be part of a moment you will never forget.
Brian
