We’re facing a big end-of-month fundraising deadline this weekend, and I’m counting on our grassroots team to help us catch up to our goal — so that we have what it takes to retake the House majority and stop Kevin McCarthy’s extremism.

I’m proud to be a fourth-generation Coloradan. I grew up in Jefferson County and became the first member of my family to graduate high school and the first to earn a college degree.

To help get by, I started cleaning houses when I was just 12 years old, worked behind the counter at a bagel shop, pushed carts at a grocery store, and waited tables at restaurant after restaurant to put myself through college.

Growing up, the odds were stacked against me, but thanks to the support of Jeffco public schools, I was given a chance. 

I ran for office to make sure future generations have the same chance I did. And now, I'm proud to be taking that fight to Congress. I know that the policies we're fighting for every day make or break it for regular people like me.

But listen, if we're going to make the kind of progress that our nation deserves — and stop the GOP attacks on basic civil rights like the right to choose — we can't let Republicans flip this seat red in the next election. That means we need to assemble the resources NOW to win a hard-fought race. If you're with me, can I count on you to pitch in a few dollars?

The stakes here are high. I know the next election seems far away, but the truth is, we're in a tough fight to retake the House majority, and it's critical that we succeed. Everything from the right to choose to the right to a functioning democracy is on the line.
