I have about 15 minutes of free time in my schedule. I know that doesn’t sound like a lot of time, but with a schedule like mine, I can assure you it’s a gift.

And while I know our campaign has been sending a lot of emails your way, I want to take a few of these minutes to tell you about why your support is so essential to our success, especially today.

My finance team let me know this morning that, with just two days to go, we’re pacing a little behind on our goals—so we’re hoping for a few more donations today to help close the gap.

It’s important that we don’t miss these goals, because there are a lot of Senate Democrats up for reelection and our majority is razor-thin. Losing even one of these races could be the difference between a Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell again or not.

So when you donate right now, you’re making an investment in the future security of this seat, and also the immediate security of our Senate majority. Because we’re putting your donations to good use right now supporting my colleagues up for reelection.

Earlier this month I was in Ohio with Sherrod Brown talking to voters about the importance of his race. Analysts at CNN say he’s one of the most vulnerable senators on the ballot and it’s going to take a big effort to defend that seat.

And you can be sure it won’t stop there. Over the course of this year and next, I will be crisscrossing the country helping out my colleagues in tough battleground races.

So now, you can see why your support is so important not just to our campaign but to our larger Democratic majority. Which is why I have to ask:
