When the first piece of anti-trans legislation made its way to Washington, Becca gave speeches, booked national interviews, and worked with colleagues to rally against it. Now, she’s facing an onslaught of homophobic attacks online because of it.

Look, we knew that electing Vermont’s first Congresswoman would require dealing with the occasional sexist and homophobic comment. But the escalation in attacks against LGBTQ+ leaders like Becca – specifically insinuating that gay and transgender people are “groomers” – are dangerous , and they must stop now.

Opponents of LGBTQ+ rights will stop at nothing to silence leaders like Becca. As they ramp up their attacks, we need to send the message that name-calling, threats, and intimidation tactics will not deter Becca from continuing to fight for the fundamental freedoms of LGBTQ+ Americans.
