Last week, a GOP candidate announced his campaign to challenge me. We knew this was coming, but a challenger this early in the election cycle means we'll need to spend the next 19 months defending against attacks.
Last election, super PACs and dark money groups spent millions against me. And the people who tried to ensure that Pennsylvania would never have a Black Congresswoman aren't going to stop because they lost the first time. This election, they're going to come at us with a more honed technique — and even more money.
On November 8, 2022, we overcame millions in attack ads and defied every single odd because the People of Western Pennsylvania decided to stand up and fight for each other. Now we need to do it again.

Our GOP opponent thinks he can win votes by calling me "extreme" and a member of the Squad. But we know who is really extreme.
It is those who are sitting idly while our nation slips down the road of fascism, wealth inequality, racism, xenophobia, antisemitism, homophobia and transphobia, and a fear of anyone different.
Believing in Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, union rights, or campaign finance reform is not extreme — it's the bare minimum to deliver for the everyday people of this country. No matter where you come from or how you vote, we have to decide whether we will give in to the far-right's fear-mongering or chart a new path that is centered in community.
Together, we proved that the power of the People is greater than the people in power when we elected Pennsylvania's first Black Congresswoman. Let's do it again.
