I wanted to make sure you saw Emily’s message below. Stories of anti-democratic action are popping up around the U.S. more frequently, the problem is dangerous and growing.

The solution? Recruiting and electing servant leaders who understand the importance of serving with integrity and have the courage to put people and democracy first.

Team, you can support our work and our candidates by making a donation before Sunday’s end-of-month deadline.

Thank you for keeping our democracy strong.

Begin forwarded message:

State houses around the country have become testing grounds for extreme, undemocratic policies and legislation. In some places the political process itself has been hijacked, the interests of the American public taking a backseat to special interests.

Case in point: Earlier this month, two state representatives were expelled from the Tennessee legislature for participating in a peaceful protest demanding action on gun violence. A power grab by the majority that disempowered the voters’ choice of their own elected officials.

It’s more clear now than ever that we need leaders in our communities and halls of power who are there to serve the people, not political parties. Our democracy is at stake, and Americans deserve more from their leadership.

That’s where New Politics comes in: we’re here to recruit, train, and support the next generation of leaders, who will put service over self and fight for what’s right in office.

We have plans to advise and elect more candidates than ever in 2023 and beyond, but we need to raise another $10,000 before the end of the month to stay on track. You can help us fight back against anti-democratic forces around the country by chipping in now.

New Politics--

New Politics supports outstanding military veterans and national service leaders, alumni of programs like AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps, to step up and serve our country again, this time through politics. We were proud to be behind the movement of veterans who ran for office for the first time in 2018, and we have big plans to grow into the future.
