“Surprise Florida election bill could suppress student votes”
John – Last week, I told you about our plans to launch new organizing teams across college campuses in Florida, bringing more young people into our fight against fascism.
But now, Ron DeSantis’ GOP lawmakers are ramping up their efforts to suppress the youth vote with a new bill that directly targets first-time voters, making it harder for them to register to vote.
So we need to launch our student organizing teams ASAP and show the GOP that our youth-powered movement has the strength to overcome their blatant assault on young voters.
But if we don’t hit our $10,000 goal before our End of April fundraising deadline in 2 days, we won’t have the resources to fast-track our efforts on college campuses. So I’m counting on your grassroots support to get us there.
Can you chip in $27 to help us reach young voters and fight back against DeSantis and the Florida GOP’s attacks on our voting rights?
John, it’s clear: young, first-time voters are a direct threat to DeSantis and the Florida GOP’s fascist agenda.
That’s why they’re targeting young people at every level by:
- Restricting young people’s voting access on college campuses and beyond,
- Censoring Florida student’s education with book bans and laws that police school curriculums,
- And passing bills like “Don’t Say Gay” that aim to erase and intimidate LGBTQ+ youth out of existence.
Republican lawmakers want young people to be voiceless. But I refuse to let that happen.
Instead, we’re going to fight back by mobilizing young people and bringing them into our movement against fascism. And we’re going to prove to every fascist out there that they won’t stand a chance against Florida youth.
But if we want to get this team going, we need YOU to help power this movement to support Florida youth before our End of April deadline in just 2 days.
So please John, chip in $27 to fuel my campaign’s efforts to mobilize more youth than ever to defeat DeSantis and the GOP’s fascist agenda >>
Let’s show them what we’re made of,
Maxwell Frost
